More Course Information
Be inspired! In the heart of North & West Norfolk! Learn to paint atmospheric, loose watercolours, filled with light and mood. My courses are carefully planned, providing professional tuition in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. .
As always, I will get across those ideas that I believe are key to create a successful watercolour painting and, simultaneously, give an experience that is enjoyable, informative and entertaining. If you’re new to watercolour, or are already using it but feel you could learn more, then I can help you take your next step. My courses are suitable for all abilities.
We’ll discuss the key elements of a successful painting – composition, counterchange, the use of tone – the essential building blocks before you begin your painting.
This will lead us into creating a simple but effective watercolour, using a limited palette of colours. I’ll show you how you can create mood and atmosphere in your work, whilst at the same time make colour mixing easy. I'll demonstrate how to master simple, light-filled skies that add class (and the ultimate impact) into your paintings. I'll teach you the importance of looking at your subject as simple shapes, not objects, and show you how you can loosen up your watercolours but still retaining enough detail to add interest.
